I started out in Physics Engineering, before switching to Mechanical Engineering with a Mathematics minor.During the summer of 2019, I developed a strong new interest in Spanish, world history, and international relations while working at an inn in Phippsburg, Maine and making new connections. I returned for the Fall 2019 semester and joined the UMaine Engineers Without Borders chapter, whose focus was the design of a nonprofit water-distribution system in Ecuador.After much reflection & more new experiences, I decided to change course and follow my interests in the humanities at Hampshire College, where I was able to explore the nuances of socio-political issues and trends in Latin America among other regions of the world.
