  Rotable Controller

  My duties as the Rotable Controller included the following tasks relative to the maintenance of the fleet of sixteen passenger aircraft; as such this role had a heavy emphasis on safety. My responsibilities in brief were:- efficient day to day running of the main aircraft spares store at Aberdeen Airport and the ten stores at bmi bases throughout Europe. This operation is a 24 hour 7 days a week;to ensure that all spares coming into the bonded stores are inspected in accordance with the Civil Aviation Authority and company procedures;to ensure all spare parts requirements for scheduled maintenance are available as per the requirements submitted by the planning and engineering departments;to ensure all critical material requirements are met by purchasing, expediting and transportation of such materials from various vendors based around the world;to ensure the stores and stores personnel comply with the relative HSE and company safety regulations. My scope also includes personnel training;reporting, on a daily basis of all aspect of the above to the Logistics Manager.I also undertook a first aid at work course and was a first aider for the Engineering DepartmentI was the company manual handling instructor and one of my responsibilities was to train all cabin crew in the safe practice of manual handlingAs I was responsible for the shipping of aircraft spares, I successfully completed both Dangerous Goods by Air and Road courses.
