  Mr. Janeri helped develop the real-time embedded software for the NAVSTAR Global Positioning System (GPS). He was responsible for designing a navigation Kalman filter and implementing digital signal processing algorithms for satellite tracking and receiving.Mr. Janeri was the author of the standard Ada mathematical library for the TI/Tartan Laboratories VHSIC 1750A Ada runtime system and the TI Ada Benchmarking System. His experience in trusted systems evaluation covers a broad range of applications including evaluation of a Multilevel Secure Local Area Network, an End-to-End Encryption System, and several A1 Level Operating Systems.

  Mr. Janeri helped form UL’s software safety Research Department, and played an instrumental role in the creation of a new service for evaluating safety-critical programmable systems. He was the principal author of ANSI/UL 1998, “The Standard for Safety for Software in Programmable Components,” which establishes the technical requirements and procedures for certification of embedded safety-critical software.
