I also participated in marketing our IDTF.Key Milestone: Although not everyone remembers it, Y2K was a big scary deal in 1999. I was part of the committee that reviewed possible liabilities and was part of the group on site for all preemptive safeguards as well as staying at the office during the 1999-2000 transition. I was responsible for credentialing, claim support, day to day operations of the office, site visits, chart reviews, educating member office staff, marketing, contributions to our quarterly newsletter, management of events related to board meetings and seminars, and providing any support required by the ED or our members as well as all day to day functions including supply ordering.Key Milestone: Brought in well over $35,000 for member offices in claims they had been unable to resolve prior to my intervention.   Managed department of up to 38 staffers for 22+ radiologists with 2 hospital affiliations as well as several IDTF locations, presided over all billing, billing software, and credentialing matters created by merger between North Florida Radiology and Gainesville Radiology Group resulting in a company that billed out over 60 million dollars in claims annually. Responsible for managing all aspects of the billing process from registration to AR follow up including but not limited to managing staff, implementing CodeRyte, training for HIPAA, adherence to correct coding and appropriate billing follow-up as well as contracting for the new entities with all major networks.Key Milestone: One of the largest PPOs in Florida was behind in claim payments to DIG/DRG for nearly $500k. I negotiated a $600k advance from the PPO for six months, interest free. Their normal practice was to ‘pay ahead’ and have the provider of services track future zero-pay EOBs and deduct from the advance. I instead had them give us the advance AND pay claims so we could simply pay the $600k back in 6 months (keeping any interest we earned) thereby eliminating the cash flow issue created by their erroneous delays without overextending our staff. I also spent two days in their claim headquarters with six claim processors reviewing hundreds of claims and resulting in real time payment release with no additional strain our our practice’s resources.   Over the course of my six year tenure with this practice I decreased infrastructure by nearly 30% allowing for the hiring of three new billable positions (ARNP, RRT, and PA-C), managed the process of all hard and software purchases (EMR, IT, postal, copiers/scanners) as well as clinical hardware (NSpire PFT box), contracted with ARNP and PA-C in practice friendly form, liaison between CPA and 401 for MD/Owners, managed staff (including physician and extenders), managed payables as well as payroll (QuickBooks), managed all insurance and private pay billing as well as all credentialing, malpractice, and contracting (insurance and service oriented) processes, executed several marketing strategies, recruited and courted new physicians for the practice, created and maintained our website, and provided additional support for the physicians and their family members as needed.Key Milestone: In July 2012 the MD/Owners agreed to transition to EMR, but hoped to do so in time to attest for 4Q 2012. Intergy felt it would not be possible, but we did it and the MD/Owners received their full stimulus payments in April of 2013 as a result of my team’s efforts in training, tweaking, and applying the new processes while still closing out the prior system.
