  As a Keyholder at Liquor Depot, I was entrusted to open/close the store. I would have to activate all security including the safe and the alarms whenever closing the store. During the shift I would work as a regular employee. I would operate the cash register, stock shelves, and assist customers. I would count the money in the safe, and ensure all cash registers were properly counted after each shift.

  When I first started at Labatt Brewery, my tasks were simple. I became a Bottle-line Operator, in which I would operate the machines involved in cleaning returned bottles. I would rotate between the different positions every thirty minutes over the course of the shift. Whenever there was a breakdown, I would follow standard operating procedures in identifying issues with machinery and repairing as required. Over the course of a few months I got promoted to a position called Cleaner 1. My duties included cleaning the facility, repairing all broken machinery, and to cover the positions of fellow colleagues while they were on lunch break.   I am an experienced carpenter through Crossford Construction. I completed a co-op through my high school with Crossford, and due to my positive work ethic they hired me once I graduated. I worked there from June 2009 until September 2011 before moving to Edmonton Alberta. Once I returned to Ottawa 15 months later, they re-hired me. We specialized in medium to large scale home renovation and construction projects. Do to my long standing position within the company, I was entrusted to run different construction sites. I was entrusted to develop routes and methods to ensure efficient patrols to limit unnecessary patrols while ensuring parking enforcement was conducted during high violation periods to minimize disruption for authorized personnel. I would also compile court documents and testify in court.

  Upon starting at The Beer Store, I was quickly recognized as a dependable team player due to self-discipline and initiative, and was given additional responsibilities ahead of more senior employees. Using my initiative, I identified inefficient storage areas, developed a plan, and implement efforts to update area. I was recognized as being adaptable and a strong employee, and was regularly called upon to fill positions at other stores on short notice. After gaining enough experience, I was given the responsibility to regularly open and close the store and assess the cash flow for the day. Show less
