    • Storno A/S

      Mar 1984 - Sept 1985
      Developer

Worked in "Advanced Engineering" with mainly Digital Signal Processing and Datacommunication.Implemented and tested algorithms.Obviously I did not know at the time, but a lot of things that started for me here has continued throughout my professional life. The Digital Signal Processing was performed on a PDP-11, using RT-11 operating system. I needed to understand the OS as well as program in assembly to get things done - which meant testing DSP algorithms. In order to get data to and from this device, I used "Kermit" - a sort of standard in serial communication back then, that was slow and had to be adapted to the surroundings. Using two PC's I tested protocols over the artificially radio-path that the lab had then. Vis mindre

    • Dantec Elektronik

      Jan 1985 - Jan 1991
      Developer

Developed embedded software and Digital Signal Processing for Medical Measuring Equipment. The Digital Signal Processing was basically programming Bit-Slice on 4 double Europe size boards that was the DSP. Before implementing this in a kind of assembly language, everything was tested in C-programs - cutting all data into the 16- and 20-bit integers that we had in the Bit-Slice. I drifted more and more into Embedded Software. The final major task was programming "Cantata" from the bottom. It was an old instrument, where we pulled out the old 8085 based CPU-board and instead inserted a brand new 8086-board. There was a lot of driver-writing and OS-patching, but I also rewrote the whole application in a high-level event-controlled language created by good colleagues. Modern Windows programming is using the same ideas, as we did then. Vis mindre

    • NKT Elektronik

      Jan 1991 - Jan 1997
      Project Manager

Managed Embedded Software Projects and Started test-software practice.I started here as a consultant, but was later hired for "real". The first project was huge. NKT, in a very short time, assembled a small ESW-team to re-start a big ambitious project. Originally everything had been state-of-the-art and big - that goes for the various CPU-parts as well as Requirements gathering in advanced tools etc. There had been a lot of drama before and we started at an absolute low. But the team grew fantastically. Tools were humble, and instead of a huge CPU, we used two small 8051's programmed in assembly and C. I learned so much about embedded software and teamwork that I still benefit from today. After this big/small project we moved to Ballerup. Here I met new challenges. I headed a small team that introduced automated testing. It was fun, but not as "wild-west" startup as before. Vis mindre

    • Bruel & Kjaer Sound & Vibration Measurement A/S

      Aug 1999 - Dec 2005
      Project Manager

Managed a number of Software Projects, then later also Embedded Software. Network Analysis.I actually started as developer programming Windows using MFC. Here I could draw on my experience from the "Wintester" in NKT/DSC.At a time I headed the Windows development on the basic Product known as Labshop. This has been the bread & butter for many years.

    • Technical University of Denmark

      Jan 2001 - Jan 2011
      External Lecturer

Taught Object Oriented Programming for some years - using first C++, then Java. Then taught the internet protocol stack (TCP/IP etc) for the rest of the time.I really loved teaching. At first it was C++ which I was very familiar with, but then we went on to Java, that I needed to learn first. Great!I was then asked to teach TCP/IP and the rest of the Internet protocol stack, which was kind of a challenge, but did fit very well with my work at IPBlaze. This was again a learning experience. The way the teaching was transformed since my time at DTU was in many ways great. In the classroom the teacher introduces the new theory, and immediately the class continues with exercises. This is highly motivating for everyone. The only drawback may be that the theory is not as well read as before. Vis mindre

    • IPBlaze

      Dec 2005 - Feb 2007
      R&D Manager

SW-Architecture, Test-Design, HW-Interface,Network Analysis. This was my attempt on being a part of a start-up adventure. Financially it did not go to well, but working in the machine-room of the TCP/IP-stack inside Linux I learned a lot. Somehow this went hand in hand with my teaching at DTU where I was asked to teach the internet protocol stack - aka TCP/IP. Again I experienced how fantastic a really small dedicated and totally focused team can be to work with.
