      Responsible for the Safety, Quality, and Production of the fast-paced connector manufacturing plant; had direct reports of 3 Supervisors and 80+ frontline employees in this 3 shift operation, Results: • Implemented shadow box system which minimized the time it took to change from one job to the next by 25%. This resulted in the reduction of overtime as production requirements were met as part of the 40 hour regular work shifts • Developed training for frontline employees to do "at press" quality checks to ensure parts were being ran to specifications. The result from this training yielded a reduction in quality defects from 3,000 parts per million to 200 parts per million • Coached and developed lead men for the next level of management by introducing Individual development plans (IDP's). This resulted in the promotion of 2 lead men into the supervisory ranks. • Worked closely with cross-functional departments to ensure a focus on teamwork was being achieved. The results of this was the implementations of weekly Staff meetings to ensure each department was serving each other and aligned with the KPI's set by the organization. Played a key role in implementing augmentations in manufacturing processes, which significantly increased quality concerning manufacturability and producibility limitations within the manufacturing cell.       Served as operations manager for a 24/7 HVAC/sheet metal manufacturing plant. Had full responsibility of all production, safety, and quality for the plant; managed three superintendents, six supervisors, and 150+ front-line employees. Results: • Championed and decreased die set-up times by 35% from last piece to 1st piece inspection as a result of the implementation of quick die change and cellular manufacturing in 2006; created shadow boxes for all tools at each press, drop zones for next die going into the press, and worked with tool makers to standardize common shut heights for all dies. • Created custom pallets for all work in process material; the custom pallets protected our painted sheet metal material during transport. This lead to a 50% cost savings totally $25,000 annually on Kraft paper rolls previously used to protect the painted material. • Quickly became a trusted assistant to the plant manager of the company, general manager, and executive staff by leading our teams to higher performance while reducing injuries and increasing on-time delivery to our customers. Results: • Developed efficiency-enhancing workflow/process improvements that made it possible to achieve higher throughputs at the shred plant; this was accomplished by implementing lean principles, workplace pride initiatives, and 5S functions. • Implemented a new layout of the shred plant which increased our paper tonnage by an additional 12 tons per day, this equates to an additional 48k per month in revenue, $576,000 annually. • Decreased accident and injuries at the plant from nine cases in 2009 to zero cases in 2011/2012 by developing a safety 1st mentality with the front-line employees; Daily huddles each morning were performed to keep the employees engaged with workplace safety. • Achieved 90% uptime percentage by implementing weekly maintenance program, the plant scored 99% on an unannounced audit due to the continuous tracking and maintenance of the cardboard and paper balers. • Saved 258,000 dollars in 3rd party shipment costs in 2011 by brining in-house transportation into the market; Over 1,000 dollars each business day was spent on 3rd party shipments of materials being sent to paper mills throughout the United States and Mexico.
