  As the Flight Operations Intern, I rotated between three functional areas of the department, namely Flight Operations, Department Administration, and Maintenance. This was done to learn how the various departments operated and interacted interdependently to maintain the business continuity of the operation, thereby providing an in-depth understanding of and appreciation for the many nuances business aviation possesses.   As the Director of the Aircraft Dispatch Program, I serve as the liaison between Eastern Michigan University’s (EMU) Aviation Department and the FAA to facilitate any communications and ensure positive continuity of the working relationship. I work closely with local FSDO Inspectors to maintain CFR 14 FAR Part 65 certification requirements for the program. Furthermore, I instruct both Dispatch I and II, which prepares students to take the Aircraft Dispatcher knowledge and practical examinations, so they can attain their Aircraft Dispatcher certificate. Through rigorous coursework, assessments, and scenario-based lessons I assure that all educational and logistical requirements are met. My primary goal is to ensure students learn what dispatching aircraft for a Part 121 or 135 operator entails, provide them with the essential skills and abilities that are sought by commercial operators, and prepare them to successfully complete the required FAA practical examination to attain an Aircraft Dispatcher certificate.
