      Contract Gymnastics Coach and Clinician

I worked with provincial (Gymnastics Ontario) and national (Gymnastics Canada) sports organizations to support young athletes in their competitive aspirations. I led training sessions at Provincial Training Camps and developed athletes to represent Ontario and Canada on the national and world stages. My focus was on athlete retention at all levels of the sport, and I periodized individual training plans to meet both long-term and short-term goals. I coached competitive and recreational gymnasts at various Ontario gymnastics clubs, producing Provincial, National, and International champions. As the Ontario Power Tumbling Team Coach in 2007, I collaborated with other Ontario coaches to coordinate and run training sessions. I coached various Ontario athletes during team training and provided feedback and direction during training sessions at The Canadian National Championships. In 2006, I served as the Canadian Indo-Pacific Games Team Coach in Pretoria, South Africa, where I mentored athletes to set and track goals in and out of training sessions. I managed team warm-ups, training, and recovery sessions, coaching all Team Canada tumbling athletes while maintaining clear and timely communication with team members and support staff. As a 10-year member of Team Ontario, I was a five-time Provincial Champion (1995-2006) and a Bronze Medalist, National Team, and World Cup Team member in 2002. • Peel District School Board

      Sept 2001 - Jan 2025
      Teacher

As Lead Teacher for French as a Second Language, I demonstrated deep knowledge of curriculum expectations and assessment strategies, integrating technology and experiential learning opportunities. I facilitated cross-panel projects with feeder schools to ease students' transition from middle school to secondary school, identifying program gaps and enhancing engagement through collaboration. I created lessons, assessments, and resources that promoted critical thinking and aligned with organizational goals. I also participated in school-wide initiatives that supported positive school culture and character development. As a Health and Physical Education Teacher, I promoted physical literacy and fundamental movement skills in a safe, inclusive environment, focusing on students' emotional, social, and physical well-being, mental health, and resilience. I was dedicated to nurturing self-identity and inspiring healthy living. From 2009 to 2015, I launched a school fitness program to improve staff and student health by developing essential fitness competencies. In 2011, I received the Peel District School Board’s Think, Act, Be Fit Grant, which funded research into student disengagement, revitalized fitness courses, and created a group-based fitness mentorship program, providing equipment to support long-term participation.I designed a Grade 10 weight training course tailored to teenage boys, emphasizing safety, personalized progression, and motivation. Leveraging my expertise in exercise physiology, biomechanics, and strength training, I created a program that builds physical strength, mental resilience, and self-esteem. The course encouraged a positive body image, shifted focus from unrealistic social media standards, and promoted goal-setting. By fostering a supportive environment, I ensured students gained the confidence to succeed in their fitness journey, contributing to a healthier and stronger student population. Show less
