    • We R. Listening

      Mar 2022 - Jun 2022
      Research Intern

I researched grants for We R. Listening, a nonprofit founded in 2014 that mentors young women from 13 to 22, and hosts community events and workshops focused on promoting gender equality and mental health. Working at a nonprofit, and researching grants has helped me better understand the world of nonprofits as well as the struggles of many young women across the United States. I have massive respect for Ms. Fowler, who has dedicated much of her time to the cause.

I worked full time as an assistant teacher at the Divine Mercy Catholic Academy, a small school in the Bronx which focuses on providing low cost education to young Catholics. I learned a lot about teaching, managing people and staying on schedule while working with children from the ages of 9-14.

    • Columbia University

      Jun 2024 - Jul 2024
Summer Intern for International Law and Business Programs

I helped plan and run the Global Law and Business Seminar (GLBS) for executives from around the world who were interested in earning a certificate from Columbia and exploring New York City. Throughout the seminar, I also attended the Deals: Law and Economics of Transactions course as an observer, and helped troubleshoot for the professors. I later worked on the USBLA (US Business Law Academy) program, and attended courses on American business law and tax law. Thanks to the generosity of Dean Kolker, I participated in the negotiation course and bettered my understanding of Excel through the help of Dr. Tarbet. Show less

    • Policy Matters Incorporated

      Jul 2024 - Sept 2024
      Op-Ed Competition Director

I created and managed an Op-Ed Competition for Policy Matters, a non profit that seeks to educate youth on politics and mentor them towards becoming active voters. I worked closely with the CEO, CMO and other members of the executive board to spread awareness about our contest and generate interest. The contest prompt was as follows: How should governments balance the need for national security and law-enforcement with the protection of individual online privacy rights (through laws, regulations, and international agreements)?
