  I provided strategy study classes for final year Commerce students in University College Dublin. The course curriculum was based on Contemporary Strategy Analysis by Robert Grant, and I specialized on Harvard papers by scholars such as Porter and Christensen.Offering both group lessons and one-to-one sessions, I helped students prepare for this double credit compulsory exam. Using academic articles, text books and case studies, I bought this subject to life by building the bridge between strategy in theory and how it plays out in real life.Finally, I tutored a member of the Irish rugby team, tailoring his learning needs to compensate for frequently missed lectures, a changing weekly schedule and much time spent on the road.   After graduating from university, I set up a full-service online marketing and social media agency with a friend.We worked across many different industries, including the financial, education, events, automobile, tech, training and beauty & wellness industries; and our clients included MarketSpreads, The Irish Times Motor Show, Expo-Events Ireland and Kingsley Aikens, formerly of The Ireland Funds.We also helped bring a number of new start-ups to market, attracting potential clients, including Change Panda (formerly The Turning Institute) and Redeem & Get.Although profitable, not having to deal with the uncertainty of the Irish recession and development opportunities on a graduate scheme was too good to turn down.   There is currently a shortage of strong academic provision for sixth form colleges in North Sheffield and Barnsley. Having joined a group of education and business professionals, we decided to try to alleviate this need. The idea of Chapeltown Academy was born, seeking to provide a stretching academic education to local 16-19 year old students.I helped project manage our application to the Department of Education, undertaking roles such as financial modeling, identifying suitable premises and raising local demand. We submitted our application for a new school in Chapeltown to the Department of Education in December 2012.In May 2013, our application was successfully granted support from the Department of Education, and I joined the Board of Governors.
