  Central Utility Plant Operator

  Operate and maintain the utility plant, steam boilers, HVAC, electrical, lighting and plumbing systems in a community college, including labs and shops. During my time at Cincinnati State they were installing a cooling system to the building and classrooms, which previously had heating and ventilation only. I had the opportunity to be part of the start-up of 25 new air handling units as well as the chiller plant, including cooling towers and associated pumps. Supervisor – Dale McCarthy.

At the time of my hire, my primary responsibility was to support the new construction, start-up and commissioning of the headquarters expansion with an 800,000 GSF high rise building. Participated on internal and external bench marking teams, a cross-functional team chartered with identification and reapplication of best practices, as well as departmental re-engineering team.   Responsible for the Engineering, Operations and HSE pograms of portfolio properties (Office and Research & Development buildings) in North and South America on the Procter & Gamble account. Global COE (Center of Excellence) leader for Utility Plant Operations, HVAC and Vertical Transportation on the P&G account portfolio. Supported numerous commissioning and start-ups of newly constructed facilities in the portfolio and additional properties added the portfolio through client acquisitions. Interfaced with Strategic Sourcing group for service contracts through an RFP process in the region and implemented a vendor managed inventory program for MRO supplies. Developed & implemented a program to self-perform infra-red thermal imaging & vibration analysis for rotating equipment. Successfully implemented the firm's compliance program at 10 campus properties with the highest rating for 8 continuous years. Plus several other successful initiatives listed above in the Summary.
