      During the month of July, I worked as a field researcher at the Birds Field Farm Ireland in Ballyboughall Ireland, near Dublin.The research was part of a PhD research project that investigated the possibilities of using bamboo as a new source for biomass production and renewable energy. I investigated the following parameters: specific leaf area index, amount of chlorophyll, fauna, determining insects, … and harvesting the bamboo for analysis in the lab.Title doctoral project: "Groei en ecofysiologische karakterisatie van de bamboe Phyllostachys humilis Muroi in een plantage in Ierland” by dr. ir.
