  As the acting deputy director, I am responsible for a team of 8 project officers, providing guidance and assistance in the execution of projects and development strategies. This department was responsible for the programmes/projects financed by the EU, AFD and the India Credit lines I am actively involved in the preparation and the implementation of programs and projects financed through development aid from the Netherlands and the EC. The work involves evaluation of project dossiers, procurement of works, goods and services, formulation of studies and sector analyses and monitoring of the execution of works, assistance in preparation of policy meetings with donors in the framework of the development cooperation

  I was responsible to identify, analyse, negotiate and/or prepare for approval of programmes/ projects related to the EU assistance in Suriname with the emphasis on projects in transport sector and agriculture. To further contribute to the conception, elaboration and implementation of development cooperation strategies and programmes/projects.- Preparing and monitoring projects: this together with the EU’s counterpart, (ministry of Finance – former Planning and Development Cooperation) preparing tender documents and the tendering process, followed by contract preparation and monitoring the planning and financial expenditures of the projects according to the EU procedures. - Drafting Terms of Reference, managing audits (financial and technical) and evaluations of projects.Projects:Rehabilitation Road Meerzorg – Albina (co-financed with Inter American Development Bank, Agence Francaise de Developpement), Rehabilitation, Upgrading and Institutional Strengthening of the Nieuwe Haven, Construction of the Road to the Ferry, Institutional Strengthening of the Transport Sector, Grant Contracts financed under the 9th EDF Waterfacility for Capacity Building Show less
