      Contract technical lead

Contract Technical Lead – March 2009 – September 2009The Technical Lead role has sole technical responsibility during the entire life-cycle of the project; from requirements capture to deployment. Working as a key member of the core team of Project Manager, Technical Lead and Business Analyst; delivering the product to specification, on time.In this large project, all development is performed by 3rd party suppliers, so effective vendor management played a crucial role in achieving the project objectives. The project involves changes to the infrastructure (or “Head End”) and the roll-out of enhanced software to all Set-Top Box variants currently in the field.Shortly after joining the project, the existing Project Manager left, and I took on the additional role of Project Manager for a period of 3 months, developing the project plans and budget, and launching the development and test phases with the suppliers. Recently a new Project Manager joined the team as the project was nearing the intensely technical phases of the back-end of the project.Key Achievements:Successful delivery of the specified functionality, from requirements definition into Final Acceptance Test.Efficient management of 7 3rd party vendors to deliver on-time to specification, with low defect rates.Key Skills Gained:Contract/Consultancy Experience.Further Project Management experience. (Budget and Planning experience)Further 3rd Party Vendor Management experience.Experience of a Media Production and Broadcasting company. Show less
