  Health and fitness editor
  For the Fall semester of 2009, The Columbia Chronicle added the Health and Fitness section. As editor of this new section, it was my responsibility, along with that of my assistant editor, to provide the Columbia College students and South Loop community with health, fitness and sports news from around Columbia's campus and the Chicago area.

  At 22nd Century Media I was the assistant editor of the Mokena Messenger and the Frankfort Station. In this position I covered community news, high school sports, village board meetings, photo polls and event calendars for both papers. At the time of my awards, Columbia College Chicago did not have a sports program, a sports section in The Chronicle or cover sports in general. I earned these awards against much larger/smaller schools across the state of Illinois. This is one of my proudest accomplishments.
