  12B10 Combat Engineer

  General Responsibilities Include:Perform basic demolition, mine warfare and combat construction operations. Operates various light and heavy engineer wheeled and tracked vehicles. Prepares, installs and primes firing systems for demolition and explosives. Arms, disarms and installs U.S. anti-personnel and anti-tank mines. Locate mines and booby traps by visual, manual, mechanical, electronic, other means or through the use of a mine detection dog. Recognize booby traps, friendly and threat mines and firing devices. Installs wire obstacle material and fortified defensive positions / structures.Specific Responsibilities Include:-Route reconnaissance and clearance operations to include identifying and removing explosive hazards off the battlefield. -Dismounted personnel security operations. -Mounted convoy 360 degree security operations. -Structure explosive demolition to include preparation, priming, and setting TNT, C-4. -Vehicle and weapon systems maintenance -Heavy equipment operator which includes operation various vehicles weighing up to 30 tons.-Military communications consultant, repair and radio operator. -Counter-Intelligence representative (CoIST) who has provided updated, mission critical information which has assisted ISAF forces in creating real-time threat mapping in the area of operations.
