  • Worked within the structures, geotechnical and buildings design teams during a 12-week placement to further my knowledge and skills related to the rail industry and engineering as a whole.• Used numerous Network Rail, British and European Standards to complete calculations and reports.• Completed wind loading, snow loading, bearing capacity, settlement and live & dead loads calculations to produce make formulated excel calculators.• Used Autodesk ROBOT and AutoCAD to produce FEA analysis and create/change designs to fit client requirements. Furthermore, learnt relevant software such as GeoRINM, CARRS, CCMS2 and CATALOG to understand the structure of Network Rail and cooperate senior engineers with their projects.• Conducted desk studies, produced reports and completed diversity impact assessments in interdisciplinary scheme projects.• Attended site visits by completing health and safety briefs with senior engineers to see the progress of under track crossing for wastewater infrastructure and underbridge repairs.• Used quality management systems to produce deliverables and check progress.
