  StarRez is an enterprise software company specialising in higher education accommodation, serving more than 800 institutions worldwide. My role was to manage risk and cyber security (technical security, as well as SOC 2, PCI, and GDPR) and support a team of engineers operating a scalable and secure SaaS platform (Azure + Kubernetes) delivering services to Australia, US, UK and EU. My role was to manage the software engineering team as well as company security and privacy, leading a team of 43 based in Australia, the US and the UK. Development was done on a Microsoft tech stack (C#, ASP.NET, React) or Linux (C++), in a mix of Azure, AWS and on-premises environments.
