      I worked as a Bioinformatician on the Accelerating Medicines Partnership- Type 2 Diabetes (AMP-T2D) Project, a public-private partnership which aims to make human genetic data on T2D globally accessible, in order to facilitate the discovery of novel drugs for this disease- Involved harmonising and loading genetic datasets to an open access Type 2 Diabetes knowledgebase and portal, to facilitate querying and custom analysis of this data by other researchers - Responsible for running and troubleshooting GWAS analysis pipelines (incorporating Bash, Python, R and Java) in a Unix environment- Successfully debugged a complex GWAS analysis pipeline through collaboration with other bioinformaticians and software developers - Gained a solid understanding of LSF job submission- Gained experience working with Docker containers, secure access computing systems, virtual machines and cloud environments Show less
