Performed several weeks of ethnographic research (e.g., surveys, interviews) to analyze the worldview, economy, and political discourse emergent in response to climate change in the first Transition Town in Totnes, UK. Performed a media survey and historical analysis to investigate the development and economic/political motivations behind climate change denial since the mid-twentieth century. Performed chemical experiments to study soil and water quality. Measured the geochemistry (e.g., salinity, pH, water isotopes) of ground- and surface-waters at a nature preserve along the Stono River in Charleston, SC to quantify the effect of sea-level rise and development on water quality for natural ecosystems and agriculture. Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Environmental Geology, Earth History, Environmental Geochemistry, and graduate-level Pollution in the Environment

Used organic geochemistry (lipid biomarkers, carbon and nitrogen isotopes) to study ecological responses to climate change in Earth's ancient past. Identify feedbacks between ocean chemistry, water, marine ecology, forest fires, greenhouse gas emissions, and carbon sequestration. Instructor of record for a field and classroom laboratory on Rocky Mountain geology and Earth history.

Developed new project-based learning lesson plans adapted to physical, life, and Earth science state high school academic standards using environmental and conservation current events in Colorado. Established a new face-to-face outreach program for the Colorado Wildlife Council to spread the word about wildlife management, policy, and budget. Used creative problem-solving to carry out a pointedly social directive that works with ongoing and necessary COVID restrictions. Implemented quantitative research methods (e.g., surveys, interviews) to assess outreach efficacy. Produced final report on program efficacy, and provided recommendations for future implementation.
