  During my final degree project coordinated by Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), I contributed to work in the field of genomics. Here are the highlights of my contributions:Serverless Variant Calling for Genomics Applications:Developed a Serverless FASTA Partitioner utilizing AWS Lambda, Lithops framework, and the MapReduce model to streamline genomic data processing.Engineered a Serverless FASTQ Partitioner by integrating SRA as a database with AWS Lambda and Lithops, enhancing data partitioning efficiency.Fast Retrieval of Genomic Data:Significantly reduced data transaction and retrieval costs by leveraging the AWS Open Data Project. My role involved designing and implementing algorithms that optimized data feeding to Lambda functions, boosting throughput and parallelization. This initiative not only cut costs but also solved numerous challenges inherent in serverless computing environments. Show less
