Modeling and optimization of post-combustion carbon capture processes.Process and Energy Systems Engineering (Baldea Research Group)Texas Carbon Management Program (Rochelle Research Group) Teaching assistant for CHE 363 Separation Processes, a chemical engineering undergraduate class on industrial separation processes. Developed lectures and tutorial sessions to introduce ~80 students to process modeling in Aspen Plus. Topics range from modeling a single-stage equilibrium flash through advanced techniques like rate-based distillation. Teaching assistant for CHE 473K Process Design and Operations, the capstone final project course for chemical engineering undergraduates. Developed lectures and tutorial sessions to introduce students to process simulation using Aspen Plus and cost estimation for chemical process design. Provided guidance and advice for ~30 students through semester-long project to design a blue hydrogen production process including steam-methane reforming and post-combustion carbon capture by amine scrubbing. Interned in the Process and Energy Systems Engineering group.
