      I researched the use of plant waste in the form of pure carbon (biochar) as a sustainable fillerto plastics for electronic applications and then compared its properties to the traditional filler for electronics, Carbon Black. I produced composite samples using a screw extruder and calculated rheology data which was then imported into an excel file with associated graphs through a 200-line MATLAB script that I coded. I also developed prototypes for RFID tags using a dual-head FDM printer and conducted electrical conductivity tests where the composite acted as the RF antenna. Show less
