      1990 to 2005:During the next 15 years, I worked as an independent consultant in the Roche’s Pharma division reporting directly to the Pharma CIO. My focus were strategic ICT projects such as the introduction of SAP R3 in early 1990 which was the largest R3 project at the time and the integration of core business processes and ICT SystemsSome of the key projects I directed during my tenure at Pharma included among others:1. Optimized the global CRF flow in phase 3 clinical trials. By installing some 7000 fax/scanner machines in affiliated research hospitals and optimizing the data collection, delivery and entry process, we shortened the time-to-market by six to eight month per product. Savings per product = 30 mCHF and higher depending on market potential of the new product2. Consolidated 18 local data centers into 4 regional Data Centers (2 main and 2 auxiliary DCs), eliminated 220 positions in high salaried countries and established a low cost global engineering center in Madrid. Yearly savings => 22.5 mCHF.3. Implemented global ICT cost cross-charging using newly developed SW and processes.
