Additionally, I have gained knowledge of meat evaluation of the following groups: beef, pork, and lamb. I participated in the Dairy Science Club to gain experience within the agricultural industry. My purpose was to educate consumers about where their dairy products come from. I was able to successfully fulfill this purpose through volunteer events such as, Family Day at The Dairy Unit and AgVenture. As a member of the Meat Science Quiz Bowl Team, I was able to expand upon my knowledge on all aspects of the meat industry. Topics included: the history of the AMSA, food safety, and muscle biology. With the support of sponsors and the AMSA, I was able to compete at the 2024 RMC in Oklahoma City, volunteer for the charity project, and network within the industry. Show less
