As the on-site jobs hub, our role was to make matching the right person with the right job a simple, one-stop process.We provided a free drop-in service for on-site contractors to register their vacancies and for jobseekers to register their interest, ultimately leading to employment for locals.The primary aim was to make job opportunities on this Tier 1 construction site accessible for local candidates. Most KPI's were exceeded during 20 months of operation, including over 800 placements (82% local jobseekers) with contractors, 42 training/work experience candidates and 57 traineeships or apprenticeships.The Work Shop partnership was between the Sunshine Coast Regional Council, Lendlease and The Hornery Institute (THI), who took delivery of the service and governance.
