  After seven years serving as an Educational Specialist at San Diego Cooperative Charter School in Linda VIsta, was promoted to the position of Director of Special Education when the school opened it's second location (Mountain View). In this position I oversaw over 20 Special Education team members, designed and facilitated professional learning opportunies, and established an organization wide culture of full-inclusion.

  Brought in as Director of Special Education for Bella Mente Montessori Academy, I was responsible for establishing a variety of systems (MTSS, SSTs, 504s, etc.) to provide supports for struggling learners. My role gradually expanded to provide professional learning opportunities to staff members in the area of curriculum design and instructional strategies. I left in 2025 due to a promotional opportunity within the San Diego Unified School District.

  During my time as the principal of CHS, I worked alongside students, families, and staff to cast a vision for the educational experience we desired for all students. A large part of this work involved identifying, recruiting, and hiring talented individuals committed to our vision and providing them with autonomy, support, and accountability to develop a number of programs in service of helping our students grow into the best versions of themselves:1. The Clairemont Way: our community's commitment to cultivating an intentional culture of student-centered high-achievement by outlining how we a.) serve our students, b.) live our lives as professionals, c.) collaborate with our families, and d.) engage our students in the art, science, and joy of learning.2. The CHS Graduate Profile: Our graduate profile was developed collaboratively and allowed us to remain focused on the educational experience our community valued by remaining student-focused.3. The CHS Mentorship Program: This site-wide program allowed every 11th grade student to be paired with an industry mentor and attend monthly meetings where mentor’s shared wisdom and guided students through the challenges of career preparation.4. The CHS Internship Program: The internship program connected 12th grade students to meaningful hands-on work experiences embedded within their school day. This robust program required building and leveraging partnerships with people from all segments of the community to secure a variety of internship opportunities.5. The CHS Industry Certification Program: Through a partnership with UCSD Extension and the SDUSD Career Technical Education office, CHS Seniors were provided an opportunity to receive industry certification in a variety of fields (i.e., Business Management, AutoCAD, iOS Programming, etc.).Be sure to check out many of the programs at https://clairemont.sandiegounified.org/ Show less As the Assistant Principal over athletics and Special Education I am tremendously proud of the work our PE and SPED Departments did to become the first Unified Sports Program in all of the San Diego Unified School District. The CHS Unified Sports Program, which was rooted in our belief that students of all ability levels should be included in all areas of the education experience, was developed in collaboration with the Special Olympics. As a result of the success of our efforts this program was able to be expanded to eight High Schools, two Middle Schools, and eight Elementary Schools in San Diego Unified.In collaboration with our Athletic Director and the various captains and coaches of our athletics program, we developed our players creed that outlined our commitment to making sports about more than just the scoreboard but building leaders and student-athletes of great character both on and off the playing field.
