This tenure involved another new product development for Electrical Machine associted development programme for aerospace and Exposure is broadly over- DC and AC Electrical System LRUs development for Aircrafts/Helicopters- In-house product development activities i.e. design documentation, Analysis work packages (Electromagnetic/Thermal/CFD/Stress/Reliability) with internal and external resources alongwith PDR & CDR conduction.Interacted during developmental activities with top academic institutions and airworthiness authorities of India.- Major responsibility is to Lead in Research, Design and Development of Electrical Machines to be used in Aircraft Programme. -The new product related testing for qualification (plan and conduct) with resource and facility identification globally and locally.-Identify Material resources and vendors for parts/assemblies (locally and globally) & Lead teams for this.- Prepare technical specs & developed test rigs for electrical equipment testing to aerospace environment both locally and globally.- Got developed an innovative test rig with Germans.- During Manufacturing outsourcing, utilized the synergy available with automotive domain industry of India. So, Identified sources in India capable of meeting engineering needs.- Technical Problem identification & resolution through design changes to non-OEM products to meet the existing requirements. In a nutshell, Associated with- Co-ordination with suppliers (to understand tech spec of items to supply), part manufacturers (to finalise processes involved), test labs (in getting their quotes/ conducting tests), higher ups (get funding approvals of new project proposals), users (to arrive at mutually agreed requirement specs, form & fit studies) and Airworthiness govt. authorities (arrive at mutually agreed test schedule to follow during product qualification testing).
