  Student mentor

  Entering my first year of A levels I was chosen and asked to assist final-year GCSE students to prepare for examinations, revision strategies and general mentoring. I stayed behind most nights after a day at college to help the children doing their GCSEs with time management, motivation, performance, and testing their knowledge on their assessed subject. I also offered general support and as a mentor, I helped guide them to success. This job role was extremely fulfilling and rewarding as it allowed me to see the difference in their confidence, performance and grades after helping them. Also, the students who needed the help had behavioural issues so this was a challenge when guiding and mentoring them to success, however, I overcame this challenge by becoming a much better listener and being down to earth with the students. I also acted as a leader as I set an example for the children they looked up to me as I wasn't too much older than them and I was less authoritative and more of a friend than the teachers could be, this helped their trust in me and their focus. As I entered the second year, I was employed by the college to continue this service and was one of 20 student mentors in the school who assisted students in their wellbeing and academic preparations.   San Giovanni is an Italian gourmet restaurant and bar, I have been employed as the front of house waitress, responsible for customer service, bartender and a host for the restaurant/bar.. I also had the role of being a host ethic including checking people in and bringing them to their table with their drinks, attending to their needs for the evening, though doing this job I was in charge of the inflow and outflow of the restaurant My supervisors and customers found me reliable and to provide good service, for which I would receive considerable service benefits and tips.
