Over the next few years I led a variety of I.S. projects up to 10,000 manhours each, using the entire retail systems development team and additional contractors as required, primarily on large-scale upgrades (such as the in-house upgrade from Retek RMS 6.5 to 8.0). Redesigned and rewrote the replenishment system to be based on multiple rulesets, with the capability to cascade through multiple rules in a user defined sequence, to best distribute limited quantities. In addition to being more capable, it also completed in 30 minutes vs. 3 hours. Following this activity I identified 30 additional tuning opportunities and implemented those -- reducing 2-3 hour processes to 10-30 minutes, followed by restructuring the entire batch process flow to remove unnecessary dependencies and to allow for parallel processing wherever possible.Participated in the selection of a Merchandise Planning system (originally from Maple Lake, then acquired by TXT, now Aptos) to replace legacy spreadsheet processes, and then led the I.T. implementation of the selected system.I worked closely with subject matter experts and at the VP and Director level within the retail business area, to jointly design a product allocation tool that was implemented in 2010. For the next three years I was co-located with our retail business users to discover and recommend strategic improvements to our retail systems and retail data warehouse (basically a Product Owner). During the first year and a half of the co-location, I met quarterly with the CEO to discuss findings and status. Show less
