It is compact and easy to transport, ensuring the temporary character of the pavilion. The box metamorphoses into a cheerful faceted structure that relates harmoniously with the Fernsehturm Pavilion’s architecture.By placing the proposed structure in the tower’s axis, we ensure visibility from both eye level and from the buildings surrounding it. The shape and the position transform the object into a framing device, focusing on Fernsehturm’s Pavilion. Interaction is another important aspect in this project. It is based on the concept of foldable furniture that can be elevated from the pavilion's platform by the customers, thereby interacting with the pavilion and with each other. The signage, using 3D words and logo placed on the facades, attracts customers and controls the circulation around the object. The facades are marked by words guiding the customer’s steps: EXPLORE possibilities, ORDER (and pay) and ENJOY (serving and seating area). The fifth façade is designed to make the pavilion visible from above. The structure combines aluminum panels on a steel framing system, being an easy, sustainable and economical solution. Pneumatic and electrical hinge systems are used for opening the overhead and the extension panels. These have a light grey finish on the exterior side, blending in with the surrounding buildings. Yellow finish on the interior side and wood cladding on the facades make the pavilion a cheerful, attractive presence. Show less
