As an Officer Cadet I was developed in leadership in a military environment towards the Military Training Qualifications 1 and 2 which I passed. Successful completion of the Military Training Qualifications 1 and 2, normally in your 2nd year, makes you eligible for the City and Guilds Leadership Award, equivalent to a level 4 NVQ, proving that you have management potential as well as academic ability.I was promoted to Senior Under Officer in my 4th Year, the highest position for an OCdt, as a 1 year position. I am now back to an Officer Cadet for my final year to focus on my University. The OTC requires me to remain physical robust and fit, as well as being able to organise myself to succeed in my studies as well as at the OTC. It improved my oral communication skills as I am confident public speaker and happy to work both within and as the head of a team of my peers Show less Part time employment within the Territorial Army. Elected as the most Senior Cadet of the OTC (1 of 4 in Scotland) by permanent staff members, responsible for assisting in coordinating the training programme alongside the Permanent Army staff. Also responsible for the welfare of over 100 cadets, aiding the staff with the logistics management of a large number of personnel. Completed the Military Leadership Development Programme Level 1 and 2. Coordinated the cadet side of the centenary celebrations, including 2 concurrent sports matches and a celebration dinner.
