Organised events for Volunteer Centre launch, Volunteers Week, socials and information days. This involved working in partnership with other agencies and liaising with local press. Worked as part of a small team to develop an office administration system, maintain the database and design leaflets, posters and other publications.

  The post involved, writing project proposals, developing policies and procedures, addressing staff sensitivities, working with partners, recruiting volunteers, planning and delivering training for both staff & volunteers, running evaluation sessions, supporting 200 volunteers, managing budgets and purchasing branded clothing. The role changed considerably over 9 years from a part time role responding to enquiries and recruiting new volunteers to a more strategic role, developing new opportunities and working with a variety of partner organisations to ensure the successful delivery of positive volunteering opportunities in the National Park.   Responsible for developing, writing, promoting and implementing Volunteer Scotland’s learning and practice products in all formats, including delivering services online and across Scotland. Worked in collaboration with the Centre for Voluntary Sector Leadership to write an Open University Course on Involving Volunteers. Also assessed volunteer involving organisations for the Investing in Volunteers award, including lead assessing the reports of other assessors. The role of the assessor is to lead an organisation through the assessment process. This involves, presentations to stakeholders in the organisation, review of policies and procedures, face to face and telephone interviews with staff and volunteers, providing verbal and written feedback and writing up the assessment report for submission to the UK panel.

  Developed a volunteer passport for a collaborative of health organisations in South Lanarkshire. Focused on streamlining the volunteer recruitment experience and sharing resources around training and induction.

  Volunteering Development Coordinator

  Developed the policies and procedures required to enable volunteer involvement at Blackwood. Worked with staff to define two new roles for volunteers and delivered staff training to ensure they were ready to work with volunteers. Volunteers engaged remotely during the pandemic to create neighbourhood guides for customers about their local areas. Digital buddies were also provided with training so they could help customers.
