By reviewing the academic literature and theory, real-life examples, and business case studies, I acquired insight into the behaviour of organisations, including processes of organisational change and innovation and how it is changed and accelerated.I wrote by thesis on 'Digital Platforms for Industrial Symbiosis - An exploration of industrial parks in Norway', including a 3-months internship at SINTEF Digital in Trondheim, Norway. Moreover, the NIM contributes to scientific research that is done by scholars at Utrecht University. When organizations take part in the NIM research they will receive an extended report in which their activities and policies for D&I are scored based on the model that the NIM developed.   The OD NZKG is the local government agency for the environment, soil and construction. The agency grants permits in the fields of soil, construction, and environment, monitors compliance with regulations, and advises municipalities and the province in our working area. In this way, we contribute to sustainability, livability, and safety in the region. The team Expertise Environment & Sustainability consists of 60 enthusiastic colleagues with a broad and specialized knowledge in the areas of air, noise, external safety, nature, water, soil and waste streams, sustainability, and energy saving. One of the organization’s focus points is the circular economy, a theme of the future. As an advisor, I contribute to the Circular Economy Program. This program shapes the integration of the circular economy in our main practices (granting permits and supervision), incorporating knowledge and expertise from the entire organization. Several themes around circularity are innovative and still relatively in their infancy. Our challenge is to make circularity part of regular practices. Show less
