  The primary duties and responsibilities of the District Medical Services Officer will include the following but not be restricted to:1. Be responsible for overall improvement of quality of care and service delivery at all facilities in the district.2. Ensure timely support in establishing Quality Improvement processes, including the integrity of clinical protocols, medical records, data analysis and its usage. 3. Imparting hands-on technical support to Health Functionaries particularly at the Facility level, ICDS functionaries as required to strengthen technical content in the outreach function. 4. Monitoring the performance of nurses and doctors in facilities in the assigned area, particularly related to maternity, neonatal care, and family planning procedures.5. Strengthen clinical documentation and support DTL in strengthening the process for clinical case reviews.6. Involvement in improving measurement of Inputs, Outputs and Outcomes of the CEmONC programme.7. Eventually, responsible for results in the assigned facilities – in terms of clinical outcomes and Quality of Care in facilities, support PHCs in adopting Quality Control guidelines.8. Support the facility staff for quality improvement work and preparedness for various QA certifications.9. Work closely with DHS and colleagues in the district to develop training strategies for functionaries of government programs at all levels, particularly for areas within the mandate of the state. 10. Liaison with the facility staff on the field working in close co-ordination with the district team. Show less
