      • Designed a PID Controller via LabView that controlled the angular position of an electromechanical pendulum's flywheel while maintaining constraints of settling time, rise time, and percent overshoot resulting in a performance of 1% steady state error and a 3 second settling time.• Created a mathematical model of an electromechanical motor, flywheel system via state space representation by applying impulses to the motor, flywheel system and analyzing physical parameters to assess system parameters such as inertia and friction. Utilizing the mathematical model, the LQR control algorithm was incorporated to develop PID gains which led to the control of a pendulum an inverted state for about 5 seconds. Show less • Created a strain gauge weight transducer by soldering strain gauges to a self assembled Wheatstone bridge circuit that had the ability to measure the weight of a water bottle through LabView.• Conducted free vibrational testing on various beams of differing materials (steel and aluminum) to analyze various frequency and material beam properties via Modal Analysis. When assessing each beams impulse frequency response, a MATLAB script was created that utilized both a FFT and Finite Difference Approximation to identify each material’s resonance while simultaneously approximating data for noise generated within strain gauges.       • Designing and tuning an autonomous robotic submarine controller that enhances submarine’s dynamic traits while simultaneously ensuring that IMU and DVL of robotic submarine are working as efficiently as possible with minimal steady state error and noise. • Assessed the robotic submarine’s center of mass and buoyancy by creating a 2x4’ plywood and mass hook mechanism so the dynamic characteristics of the robotic submarine could be optimized for control. • Integrated an IMU within a robotic submarine system by stripping and soldering IMU and DVL wires together enhancing the process of collecting and analyzing motion data over extended periods of time. • Designed and 3D printed a Raspberry Pi mount by creating a sled through SolidWorks, optimizing space within one of the robotic submarine’s subassemblies.
