      Speech-Language Pathology Intern

Central Rivers AEA serves public and accredited, nonpublic schools in 18 of Iowa's counties. While interning, I worked with children across five schools in the areas of articulation, fluency, language, social aspects of communication, and communication modalities. In addition to providing general education intervention and implementing IEPs, I collaborated with special education teachers to install editing software for a speech generating device, provide clearer instruction, and consider alternative forms of assessment. Speech-Language Pathology Intern

Early Developmental Intervention is a pediatric outpatient clinic through Covenant Medical Center. During my internship, I assisted in evaluations by conducting parent interviews; delivering, scoring, and interpreting standardized tests; and writing reports and plans of care. I provided individualized treatment in the areas of language, articulation, cognition, and communication modalities for my clients as well as home-programming and education for their families. Furthermore, I observed and participated in infant hearing screening; feeding and swallowing therapy; and Spanish-English bilingual treatment sessions. Show less
