  • Base responsibilities include but are not limited to migration of servers from remote Navy locations to the NGEN (Next Generation Enterprise Network) in New Orleans, La, San Diego, CA and Charleston, SC for both Information Assurance and Server Administration roles. • Maintain STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guidelines) for Windows servers and supported and hosted programs.• As part of the information assurance team I am responsible for scanning systems for vulnerabilities using a Nesses/ACAS system and reporting issues to the SPAWAR NOLA transition team. • As a Sr. Server Administrator role I am the “contract” technical team leader of a 12 person team. • Responsible for documenting statements of work and writing standard operating procedures (SOP) for the division for all work performed. This is to support auditing and allow server administrators from other locations to become more effectively support the SPAWAR-Atlantic transition project.• Typical daily IA duties include identifying issues with current servers form a security perspective and finding ways to remediate the issues on servers in the transition environment. • Typical daily SA duties include building and migrating (p2v)servers into a VM environment up to the NGEN standard into the data center VMWare system.• Audit all network security software is installed and functioning including HBSS, enterprise anti-virus etc. • Support COOP planning to ensure the transition team is in compliance. • Provide support and guidance to local windows and IA team and supply reports to government.
