      Sept 1998 - Dec 2001
      Temporary Assistant

I was in need of work in high school and so I joined this staffing agency. I worked in offices and ended up landing a job as a Enrollment Specialist at a company that later in years ended up becoming the headquarters for Xerox Corp, ironically enough(f.k.a., now known as Conduent). The nature of my jobs were usually not very long and ended up being short assignments until the job initially as a data entry/file clerk provided me an opportunity at permanent employment; this company is no longer in existence -- the one I was hired on as a permanent employee -- however, the experience was worth a mention as it was my first job in the health care field. I was 18 years old at the time, the company's name was Consultec. I also had temporary job assignments at Macy's Dept. Store, Burger King, and Sheraton Old Town (renamed to Albuquerque Hotel). • The Becerra Group, LLC

      Jan 1999 - Jan 2012
      Cleric/Data Processing

Temporary on/off assistance as a clerk/data entry person in my father's bookkeeping and commercial as well as personal income tax business. Answered phones on occasion, picked up mail, stored records, and interacted w/clientele. This company is ideally a family based business but has mostly served as temporary employment. Very grateful for the opportunity provided through the years by this remarkable tax firm!

    • Subway

      Jan 2002 - Jun 2002
      Sandwich Artist

I had worked here for a short while after moving into Mesa, AZ. I needed something close to home and this was literally next to an apartment I had lived in w/my aunt. I learned how to prepare sandwiches, deal w/customers, and operate as a cashier. Did vegetable prep and other prep work, as well as general clean up of the restaurant. After leaving this employer I would go back and visit off and on, as they were very inviting owners of this particular franchise. I left the job due to moving into another close by town w/a friend. • Circle K

      Jul 2002 - Dec 2002
      CSR

I worked graveyard shifts at two different locations while living in AZ. It was a good company to work for, though I wasn't fond of the graveyard shift. I did work days to start but then requested to be placed on the graveyard shift after a few weeks of training. I didn't stay long in this company b/c I was considering pursuing some higher education and wanted to do some work study at Mesa Community College. However, my job duties while working w/Circle K did include stocking product, cleaning coffee station/refilling coffee, creamer machine, etc. Also, I had to restock product, change out and clean cheese machine, grill, condiment section, restock freezer, beverage cooler, and the like. During graveyard shift I was allowed to lock up the store in order to get all my essential duties completed. Show less

    • Walmart

      Jun 2003 - Sept 2003
      Unloader

I worked in the back of Walmart Supercenter for a short time as an unloader. Major duties included sorting product on pallets and taking them to their respective lots in the unloading area. We would first unload the trucks then move product onto pallets, then into their respective departments after each lot was floor ready. Our job typically ended just around the time that night stockers would come in to do the shelving of new product received. Also operated a baler of boxes that had been emptied by those who worked as stockers. Show less

      Temp

Through this staffing agency I had the experience to work w/ the Albuquerque Animal Shelter Services as well as General Mills processing plant. I also worked w/a company that is no longer in business called RCI, Inc. The business was a shipping and receiving warehouse where we were responsible for grocery items primarily being loaded and unloaded from trucks that would come in. It was a good experience.

    • Joshua's Vineyard/Iglesia De Vina - AmeriCorps VISTA Program

      Jan 2005 - Jan 2006
      Americorps Volunteer

I assisted w/initiating a community based service that would provide food to the less fortunate of our very own International District Neighborhood. This was accomplished through utilizing a unique pantry operation facilitated by the Road Runner Food Bank program of New Mexico. Members of the Spanish speaking congregation of the Vineyard Association of Churches took notice to meeting the needs of the community. It took awhile to realize what the community based service was going to be but I was also able to watch people come together for a common purpose and involvement in the community was very successful. Volunteerism was a result of one of the many successes of this service rendered, in as much as recruiting an additional AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer, an accomplished artist by the name of Erika, to use her time in developing an art kinship. These two developments continued to serve the community for several years after I had moved on. Show less

    • Su Vida Services

      Aug 2014 - Sept 2015

Customized Community Supports is a leg of service that's a direct support role. I have in the recent past worked in this position w/a participant through above stated agency, Su Vida. • Self-employed

      Oct 2014 - Oct 2017
      Homemaker
    • Xerox

      Oct 2014 - Oct 2017
      Independent Contractor

I was a contractor w/Xerox Corp but due to the nature of the services they provided as mostly a paperwork processing organization for a statewide waiver for adults w/disabilities, I am unable to provide the names of the families I worked for on this waiver program. The waiver program is known as the Self-Directed Waiver for Adults W/Disabilities or Mi Via. I have been working w/this company as a contractor who oversees my paperwork processes for some time, a little over two (2) years. My role for the families I've served has been a Community Access provider as well as a Homemaker role. Duties have included services such as community integration for individuals w/disabilities as well as in-home cleaning and general upkeep of individuals homes and/or apartments. I've also assisted individuals w/meal prep as well as feeding, and I've assisted w/personal care as well.*In the year of 1999 I worked for this company when it was called CONSULTEC. It was in this company's employ that I began as a temp as a clerical/data entry staff person and then got hired on to work as a Provider Enrollment Specialist. In that position my duties required of me contacting doctors in the metro area that were still interested in providing their patients service coverage if they were on Medicaid. If and when they were brought upon their annual certification period, they had to provide us in our dept. w/their license for practice as a PCP or other specialized practice they were in, and we'd then be able to send them the packet to enroll w/providing services to their patients on Medicaid. As a data entry/clerk position I did filing and answering of phones, sometimes having to cover for the main receptionist up front. In this position I became familiar w/the processes involved w/working w/in a medical professional environment, terminology used w/in the field, and an awareness of HIPPA regulations. Show less

    • OLÉ

      Mar 2017 - May 2017
      Field Representative

I worked as a canvasser w/this organization. We were encouraging registered voters to vote on a special election issue in our state's capitol, Santa Fe. This was a seasonal position and since the bill did not pass in the polls, the job came to an end on May 2, 2017. This was my first job getting politically involved in issues that directly affect me as a family man and I must say, it was rather enjoyable. It's exciting to be on the frontline of any current events b/c it's as though you have a personal hand in helping to shape out history. The specific duties of the job required us to educate ourselves on an issue that was a health initiative regarding a sugary beverage tax. The funds collected from this tax was then going to be used to help fund Pre K programs for Santa Feans of lower to middle economic households. Show less

    • ITWORKS MARKETING

      Apr 2017 - Sept 2017
      Wrapreneuer

Being in the military has catapulted my efforts to improve my health and overall well being. I joined this company w/that idea in mind and w/the hopes to build, strengthen, and support relationships w/in this market of health maintenance. I'm fairly new at this business and was actually enrolled as a distributor by my oldest son's mother. She and I have a mutual interest in not only our son but the future and well being of both our families. We, together, can only accomplish what we educate ourselves in so that we might illuminate the path for others to follow suit in. This is a great time to be alive! Show less

I'm a band saw operator at the manufacturing facility in Huffman, TX. Started out w/this company as a "hand" working on bucking on couplings but that wasn't for me. My job as an operator is to take joints that are in their raw material state and then cut them down to size so that couplings for joints can be sent out into the oil field industry are readied for the actual roughnecking work.

    • Lyft

      Mar 2018 - now
      Professional Driver

I am a courteous and professional mobile assistant to those in need of vehicular caravanning. It is a different experience working for Lyft, somehow feels a little more respectable, laid back, and not potentially hostile as driving w/ÜBER does. Not that anyone is making any comparisons. I just enjoy the friendlier atmosphere of Lyft but will always utilize the ol' faithful ÜBER and ÜBEReats® when and if I can.
