       Participated in ten weeks of archaeological investigations of a sixteenth-century Spanish shipwreck in Pensacola Bay and an eighteenth-century side-wheel steamship in Seminole, Alabama. Learned skills such as site recording methods, remote sensing with magnetometer and side-scan sonar equipment, artifact recovery and processing, dredging techniques, lab methods.

       Hired by Tesla Offshore and BOEMRE to investigate 11 shipwrecks from Morgan City, Louisiana to Galveston, Texas and assess each for National Historic Register Eligibility. Investigated four World War II era vessels, one early twentieth-century tugboat, three modern fishing vessels, one barge and the Civil War era vessel, the U.S.S. Hatteras. 15 day live aboard on the M/V Spree. Conducted Scuba diving operations for target location, identification, and recordation of 11 Gulf of Mexico shipwrecks including photo and video documentation, project planning, equipment planning and project start-up. Show less  Directed ten graduate supervisors and twenty-two undergraduate students for the 10-week UWF maritime field school. Oversaw work on a sixteenth-century Spanish ship, a possible eighteenth-century schooner and six nineteenth-century vessels located in the Blackwater River. Handled all paperwork and preparation for the field school as well as helped teach new graduate supervisors the logistics of running the field school. Responsible for all guests that visited our work sites, including the state underwater archaeologists, the Pensacola Mayor. Gave public presentations about the projects at a local hospital, local museum.  Oversaw all field operations and directed the completion of a site plan of a newly investigated eighteenth-century site in the Blackwater River. Responsible for: dive safety, artifact handling, mapping, survey and target diving, dredging operations, boat maintenance and completion of archaeological site plan.
