      Using a compass found on the River Thames, I researched its various uses along with artistic and poetic concepts surrounding the emerging technology of the time (1535). I utilized this as a means of interpreting the image of a compass in John Donne's A Valediction: A Forbidding Mourning.

      I determined if the ownership of a medieval text (held in LMU's special collections) would have been considered treasonous during the reign of Henry VIII. I also identified the signature on the first leaf along with Catholic saints on the cover using UCLA and LMU's libraries and databases. Furthermore, I presented a lecture on the subject at a research symposium on LMU's campus.

      Utilizing original documents from Jung and Freud along with modern psychology scholarship, I applied the study of material culture and psychology to theorize a relationship between repressed (unconscious) collective history and the abandonment of its architectural symbols. I combined this with an extensive photo essay on the subject and presented such at a research symposium. In collaboration with Dr. Anatoly Zhuplev, I explored a variety of topics regarding economics and competitiveness. These include but weren't limited to: psychology, cooperative and competitive cultures, innovation and creative landscapes, drivers of globalization, talent, education and implications for competitiveness. I compiled my research and presented this for a forthcoming publication in the Journal of Teaching in International Business.
