  Rotational intern

  During my time as a rotational intern at Tokio Marine America I had the privilege of learning about various positions and duties within the insurance industry. Aside of from gaining insight of working in an office corporate environment. I performed numerous tasks within Underwriting Department. Tasks such as Dead Files, working with Global Business Unit (GBU) on High Priority Risks (HPR). I also deliberated underwriting policies involving Personal Line Auto, Homeowners, Dwelling Fire, and Umbrella. After working in underwriting I later worked in the Claims Department. I first worked with Loss Control by going a construction site visit to reduce the risk of claims and ensure all OSHA requirements were being met. In addition to working with loss control I did some Forensic Accounting by reviewing payments made to vendors. As well as going to a claims offsite meeting and edited/updated claims adjuster notes. Outside of working with the Underwriting and Claims Departments I also worked with the Accounting department as well. While working with the accounting department I processed Live and Stale Checks.   As an Assistant I have responsibilities and job duties that are current with the Brokers needs of managing client accounts. I assist in a number of ways to provide clients with an excellent service. Not only to ensure that the insured is provided with appropriate coverage, but that they are satisfactory to the both insured and agent. Though my tasks may vary and change on occasion depending on the nature of business, I do frequently perform the below as part of my regular job duties. Duties that I perform on a regular basis include: Filing documents in the office management system, Ordering Loss Runs, Reviewing Inspection Reports, Binding & Invoicing Accounts, Policy Maintenance, Renewal Quoting, Assisting with New Business, and Solicitation of Renewals.
