  Student Senators at the University of Rhode Island serve as a voice for the student body. Senators vote on bills that directly affect students and student organizations. Each year student senators must vote on a 1.1+ million dollar budget for student organizations. I also served on the external committee which focused on improving relations with the nearby town of Narragansett by planning and performing neighborhood cleanups and attending town council meetings to voice students' concerns.

  Senior building managers are responsible for maintaining the efficient operation of all the events that occur at the URI Memorial Union by providing exceptional customer service and technical support. I am also responsible for completing hands-on training with all new hires to teach them the duties of this job. In addition to the above responsibilities, these duties include monitoring the security of the building using video cameras, documenting maintenance issues as they arise, setting up sophisticated A/V equipment, event management for dances of 500+ people, and monitoring a 40-space short-term parking lot.   As scholarship chair of Theta Chi Eta Chapter I provide academic support for brothers who need it. I also serve on the executive board of my fraternity and help make decisions about the future of the fraternity. During my time as scholarship chair I rewrote portions of our chapter bylaws and met individually with brothers who were struggling to help them achieve academic success. As a result, our chapter's GPA improved from a 2.8 for fall semester 2016 to 3.03 for spring semester 2017, the highest GPA of any fraternity at URI. Show less
