      Student Senators at the University of Rhode Island serve as a voice for the student body. Senators vote on bills that directly affect students and student organizations. Each year student senators must vote on a 1.1+ million dollar budget for student organizations. I also served on the external committee which focused on improving relations with the nearby town of Narragansett by planning and performing neighborhood cleanups and attending town council meetings to voice students' concerns.
