  I spent 2 weeks at Poppy Treffry’s studio where I gained insight into a small textile business. I also worked in the shop for one day where I got to see the products being sold.   I worked alongside the seamstress one day a week for 2 months. My responsibilities while at Krystles Brides - Designing lace bridal jackets from lace off-cuts to meet the customer’s high expectations- Altering wedding dress bodices and lace hems using couture fitting technqiues- Working closely with the Krystle Brides’ seamstress and following her instructions- Embellishing bridal gowns using hand embroidery to customers’ specifications

  I spent just under 3 months with Jane Bowler in her studio every Monday and Tuesday, I was able to design some pieces for her SS 18 collection. My responsibilities while at Jane Bowler - Assisting in designing and making garments and jewellery for her new collection- Liaising with stylists to find Jane Bowler pieces for commercial photoshoots- Working closely with Jane Bowler and building strong relationships with her team- Assisting with Jane Bowler’s social media to show the development of her new collection through styling photographs for Instagram Show less

  I travelled to Sri Lanka to volunteer with the charity Travelteer with the aim to help give Sri Lankan single mothers a reliable income using their textile skills. My role included- Designing and creating products to sell to tourists and online via their Etsy shop, I worked on hair scrunchies, bracelets, earrings and hairbands- Recording pattern instructions for the Sri Lankan women to follow- Sourcing Fabrics from local retailers - Selling products to tourists at weekly events, finding the right product for the customer and taking onboard feedback for future product ideas Show less

Inspired by the colour and intricacies of coral reefs, she has developed a range of beaded embroidery kits and handmade artworks.Imogen says: “The real passion behind the brand is to show off the wonderful world of beaded embroidery and to inspire others to try it themselves.
