  Served as a coach and a team coordinator, and more recently as a consultant. The Wings began as the St. Louis McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Wing and were founded, coached, and sponsored by Joe Simpson. Arkansas Wings founder and president, Ron Crawford, as well as long time North Little Rock coach Richard Alexander, were members of the team from 1964 to 1968. The Wings experience guided the Crawford family to start the Arkansas Wings in 1980. Since then, the Wings have competed in AAU and various other events for the past 33 years.Thanks to a loving God and a supporting family, the Wings have become one of the most respected AAU clubs in the nation and are a member of the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League. The program has won 11 AAU National Championships, as well as earning a trip to the Final Four over 30 times and finishing in top 10 over 60 times. Just as important, the Wings have been able to help numerous players receive college scholarships. Show less
