  Supporting the management of a small team of highly skilled professionals, I was responsible for key roles within the organisation, to ensure projects were completed to deadline and to budget, as well as winning new business to support our maintenance contracts business. As part of my role, I managed relationships with key stakeholders on large projects to keep them appraised of progress, and ensure colleagues within the organisation were working efficiently, to the pre-defined timescales. I also built and managed relationships with a wide range of contractors and suppliers. As part of this, I was responsible for achieving best value for money from all suppliers, and negotiating with, and managing contracts under our employ. I was also required to manage stock and materials for our internal inventory, as well as managing orders for all stock and materials required by our construction teams for large scale building and maintenance projects.   Working under the Facilities Manager, I supported my colleagues and contributed to the successful delivery of outstanding facilities support to the wide range of resident companies based at York Science Park.Through the provision of excellent customer service, and the combined support of our dedicated Facilities Management Team I was able to support a huge number of residents in a range of ways, from immediate responses to one-off reactive jobs, consultation management and planning of long term plans, and the management of large-scale projects. My background and skills relating to electrical maintenance allowed me to work extensively on the management and improvement of our electrical systems, including wiring systems, and the total fit-out of two buildings with new LED lighting systems to help reduce our energy consumption and improve efficiency. My role also required me to focus on Health and Safety, including incident reporting and logging, documentation, preventative action planning, risk assessments and Legionella and water-borne virus testing and management. I was also responsible for contributing to the planned preventative management schedule, plant room maintenance and management, monitoring and improving energy efficiency and stock control and ordering of consumables and electrical items. Alongside my support of the ongoing improvement of systems and processes, I also worked on cost management, and ensuring value for money with all purchases and procurement. Alongside the day-to-day facilities support I carried out, I was responsible for a wide range of tasks and project work, including contractor management, from the initial stage of contractor relationship management, contract negotiations, and supervision and management of contractors on site.
