      Songbirds

Working with Mark Fisher of rosfishmusic, Songbirds is a bespoke music project with children and families who experience long periods of time in hospital, often as part of rehabilitation . We have received 3 further years of funding from Youth Music to develop our project. Using specially composed music we create musical interaction in the moment with children and their families on the wards, incorporating the smallest forms of communication-finger taps, tongue clicks, breathing, gesture and vocalisation. A specially composed Radio play, A Songbird's Tale, became part of our evaluation process, and depicts the journey of recovery often faced by children who are hospitalised over long periods of time.
