Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide. The major risk factor of glaucoma is sustained elevation of intraocular pressure (IOP), and lowering IOP is the only proven method for halting the progression of glaucomatous blindness. I also performed several validation experiments and performed 4 studies (1 of which is published, the remaining 3 are currently in preparation). Show less

    • Imperial College London

      Jul 2013 - Sept 2013
Sumer Internship (UROP): Schiøtz Tonometer Development

A tonometer is a device used to measure pressure within the eye and the resistance to drainage of the fluid which fills the eye (aqueous humour).Having digitised and created a replica of the electric Schiøtz Tonometer during our 3rd Year group project (see Achievements>Projects), my lab partner and I spent the summer digitising a tonometer at Moorfields Eye Hospital (London) and in Duke Eye Centre (North Carolina). We also provided software for the acquisition and processing of captured data (which we developed in MATLAB). These collabarations led to our inclusion in multiple papers and conference presentations (see Achievements>Publications). Show less
