  Desktop Support Engineer

  My time at Capgemini was spent providing Desktop Support for several clients, mainly focused on the Metropolitan Police Force. My role consisted of:- Looking after PC equipment on site and handling any hardware refreshes.- Dealing with a migration project (Moving from Windows 2000 - Windows XP) helping our client with software changes and providing basic training within the new environment.- Help support the roll out of blackberry devices making sure they are setup and connected on the Blackberry Manager Server.- Setting up network scanners and printers, creating the reservations and print queues.- Handling software installations via SMS or manually installing a large number of varied applications.- Speaking to the client on a daily basis and communicating with various support teams throughout Britain.   As a Support Technician at HighNet my main role was to provide support to a wide range of customers and our partners for anything fault related. This covers a wide range of topics which includes:- DSL connectivity (ADSL, FTTC), EFM and leased line faults- Logging layer 1 faults and communicating directly with Openreach through our WLR Platform- Providing in-depth support to customers with hosted phones systems- Install Horizon hosted phone systems along with delivering all the training on site- Configuring customer CPE (routers and switches). This would be anything from small business model routers for DSL connectivity to larger models which accommodate EFM and leased lines.- Monitoring all of our managed connections through our dedicated Solarwinds Network Management Platform- Assist with all sorts of LAN issues on site or remotely Show less
